There's a pretty good chance that if you're reading this, you already know me. :) But if you don't know me, here are the basics!
I'm from the great state of Louisiana, and currently work for the same. I have a cat that I'm crazy about (but I'm not a crazy cat lady). She is affectionate towards me, but really loves my running shoes and the way they smell, so don't be surprised if she turns up on the blog.
I've always been quasi-active, but never really motivated to stick with something long-term. I get bored easily and running, especially long distances, never ever appealed to me. I have always preferred swimming, dancing, or anything else to running.
My friends & I started the Couch to 5K program in the summer of 2010 when, amazingly, we were all in New Orleans for the summer and all motivated to get active. Since then, the three of us (sometimes four, if Melissa isn't overwhelmed with work and travel), have loosely kept up with running and staying healthier.
In late March, we agreed to go to Disney together in 2013. In early April, we discovered the Walt Disney World Princess [Half] Marathon in February 2014. In late April, I created this blog to track my own progress towards completing that half marathon!
I can't wait to see how this turns out.
